Anybody remember those incredible Rock island rail road backpainted pieces that Rick had in his studio?I was telling a friend of mine about them so we googled the name to no avail. If anybody has a photo of one please post it.
Thanks Roderick

Rick Sacks sent this photo for me to post. I adjusted it a bit in Photoshop for him.
I don't know where all his trains ended up. Tod Swormstedt might. I am not so sure he actually owned all of them, and one had a cracked corner, from what I remember.

Thanks so much Rick and Mike for the posting.Unfortunatly it doesn't show all the incredible detail that the peices had in them.
Todd e-mailed to say that he didn't know where they went.I did see one when I went to grass valley for the western antique show last year.I started to do some research about it but got no where.I'm sure at some point some one will come up with a good photo of one.Until then I 'll just have to use my memory.

Rock Island on Ebay...
One of these Rock Island Railroad pieces just surfaced at an auction in Kansas City, it was estimated at $20,000-$30,000 but only fetched $12,000! ...had I been a bit richer.....
