Wanna see a William Blake magic trick?
Now you see it...
Now you don't!

some are born to build all night...

Its so strange you don't remember anything about my building
.

Had a little free time, so I organized all my shipping supplies into the Bank of Machine...and I enjoyed it.

Then I had a little more free time, so I built the Marshal's Office & Jail...still need to do the signs..

Bill Blakes Gild and Build!
Guy from across the alley, over at the recyclers, casually mentioned maybe I would want
to checkout some glass over in the corner.... so I did. Scored two pieces of bent tempered
1/4" thick glass. They're about 15" x 69". Looked to me like it would make a nice corner type
sign from back in the day. Gave one to my friend Sall Jenko...told me not to tell no one.
Well, as I do, I finished that sign right up! Got it up! Framed up! Up on the wall here in Machine.

and for the inspectors...

Now get back to work!

Blake attains mental health.
Dang it Blake that's further than the the end of the line. That's half way to Altaville, truth be told. I love all the little flourishes. The blues are sweet, and how did you do that bottle neck? It pops very nicely. You must feel restored to complete mental health by now!

I ain't one to take a man's confidence lightly, it's best to keep remembering it
if you want respect when you're gildin' with men like Dickinson and Morton.

Hey, hey! Look at that!
Old Sally sure can watercolor, can't he?
Yeah, broke the mold after him.

A few folks enjoyin' a whole lot of nothin'.....

Bill Blakes movie review....
I went and saw the new Ed Harris movie, Appaloosa, the other night and I enjoyed it...
The movie had a good story and held my interest. Altough some say it was "slow", I like a western to be like that, in fact, I didn't find it to be "slow". My number one criteria for a western is, it has to be believable, and Appaloosa was. No six shooters shooting 30 rounds, no sidekicks with eyeliner. A few portions of the movie were predictable. Renée Zellweger was abit annoying at times, but can be overlooked. It had a good ending and wasn't overblown and stupid as so many Hollywood movies are.
The music score was good (up until the credits where they have some stupid Tom Petty song). The scenery was really good. The interior and exterior sets were also quite good...nice picture frames and even some decorative glass...mighta been vinyl...but I don't know.
The kicker is there was really nice sign work in the town. And they even had a sign shop! And one scene, the sign guy was working on a new sign for the hotel!
Bill Blakes rating, 5-1/2 bullets (out of 6).

Appaloosa....
Finally a good movie that doesn't have a bunch of high speed computer graphics, comic book heroes or sci-fi techs to bore up the screens again.
Good story about men and their word, mean what they say and back it up. too.
After seeing the film, it wears on ya ...
Renee' Zewelliger was a good cast for the girl, a bit more believable since ya might not had much to pick from in them days anyway.
Harris and Mortenson were a good match.
Only one problem.... I wanted to jump into that scene where the sign painter was working on the hotel sign.... at night?!
There had to be some good money being paid...
or a true bullet.
Aho

Listen out of your good ear now!...
For those of you that didn't heed my advice and see Appaloosa in the theater, you're in luck, cause it came out on DVD today. So either rent it, or buy it, don't matter which, cause now you'll be in for a good western.

Just might replicate this Drug Store, right here in Machine...and I'll enjoy it!

That is great Larry, as I have not seen it yet. I just jumped in to HighDef and got a LCD big screen with Blue Ray and surround sound and I am looking forward to viewing some good westerns.
I will consult with you on which ones to watch first. (Actually DEADMAN will be first) I'm gonna play em good and loud, may even crack some glass in the 'ol shop!

You alright?....
Sally, we been gildin' together now awhile. Can't exactly say how long, but long. Ain't nobody I'd rather gild with. You're as good as anybody I seen, except maybe Dickinson and me. The reason you ain't as good as Dickinson or me, ain't got nothin' to do with steady, or fast, or gildin' without a tip. The reason the above named folks gild better than you is because you got feelings.
Feelings ruin your gild.
You go on home now...

everybody's got feelins.
you got feelins about your Archer & Pancoast Gas Fixture piece, don't ya?
we've known each other a long time.
I don't care for those kind of dis... dis...
disparaging?
...disparaging remarks.
especially about my gildin.

I figured I saved your career as a gilder...
and gave you another chance to finish that mural,
at least sometime in the foreseeable future.
As for the unforeseeable, well, that mural's out there waiting for ya.
So you head straight into the setting sun and drive west at an easy pace,
that mural project is a long ride, and I know, there's no reason to hurry!

Nice group!Okay, here's your chance! (to balance out my photo posts) You guys can post back and forth ALL YOU WANT about Dead Man here in this thread. Post your photos, add links to other Dead Man sites, banter away, and generally have fun. Larry and the rest can fill "the uninformed" on the movie and all its finer points. There were probably a few signs painted for the movie set, too!
