Hello everyone

Post by Greg »

Just a quick hello to introduce myself.
I'm a third generation signwriter from Sydney, Australia. I found this forum in my travels, recognised Mike Jackson's name from way, way back...
After years now designing and producing on the computer have found a renewed passion for the brush! Ive had a quick look around and I'm amazed at some of the work on here.

Hi Greg,
Welcome! We call this the Hand Lettering Forum, but we cover that and all other aspects of the sign trade. You are invited to read all the old posts, add to some of them, and also create your own posts. If you know others in your area "with the passion", please invite them to join in on all the fun and discussions.

You'll find this place friendly and "focused" on the topics.

I came "down under" in about 1996 for some sort of sign expo. I had a great time and was treated with a great deal of Australian hospitality. I even ate a little "roo" to go with the beer.

Best regards,
Mike Jackson / co-administrator

Hi Greg,
A warm welcome to you from a traditional signwriter in a very cold and snowy Yorkshire, here in the UK. I love the 'passion' we all have for our craft, I've just spent 5 days on a freezing scaffold signwriting an exterior wall, 40' above the ground and its that 'passion' that kept me going, love it !!! My son, who works with me is a 3rd generation signwriter, like yourself, he's an apprentice to me at the moment but I can see he also has that 'passion' in him !!

kind regards
Brian.

And welcome from another multi-generational signwriter. So glad there are so many of us left.
