Can anyone tell me the legalities of using vintage advertisements and art commercially? I'm thinking in the terms of recreating old advertisements and art on glass. Is there anything I should know or watch out for?
There are a few internet sites that sell posters of old advertisements - how can you tell if these are authentic or not? Is there any chance of getting grief over using these? What are good sources for images and advertisements?
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure.

Kelly,
For that one, I would suggest you go speak with an attorney. All anyone here can do is give you unauthorized tidbits of legal advice which might or might not be correct. It will be your butt on the line if anything happens and no court will take into account what someone told you on a BB or forum. I spoke an attorney regarding our glass art and held back on a few issues I had originally planned on doing and including.
