While Watching "Endless Feast" on public television today.
They where taking a plant tour of "Dole & Bailey" in Woburn, Mass., just north of Boston.
They went in past the doors into the reception area...as the camera panned their entrance, a sign on the wall came into view. Not sure if is reverse glass or not, or whether it is old or a modern day version.
Does anyone on this site know of this sign.
You can see it here in the youtube video at the 1:36 mark,

Re: Dole & Bailey Sign
It is pretty blurry on YouTube and difficult to see any detail like possible glue chipping or make out the style of the embellishments.
The frame doesn't look correct. But the letter style and sign size look appropriate to signs of that period.
It could be an original, or someone with the skills to reproduce glass signs of that period could have made it more recently.
I cannot see a signature at the bottom.

Re: Dole & Bailey Sign
Yes, it was quite blurry on YouTube. But on the TV program it was quite focused. And you could see that it was made of glass, with areas of chipped or acid etched glass, bright lines and black paint for the lettering. And I too could not find a signature panel.
The lettering is quite crisp, almost too perfect...that is why I thought it might be a modern day produced piece.
I emailed them for some information on the sign...I have yet to hear back from them....will give them a call tomorrow.
