GoldLeaf workshop Feb 2011 Noah Moore
Hi . I recently finished teaching a Gold Leaf workshop to a very talented artist from Kansa City ,Missouri. Noah Moore travelled to the UK to learn our craft of glass gilding and acid embossing. Noah is a highly skilled illustration designer, incredible lettering artist ,spray work and tattoo artist . Noah Skyped me about three months ago to book up a weeks course in gilding and embossing. I designed a capital letter N specially for Noah to work on with various techniques of acid embossing ,matt finishes, Brilliant Cutting ,Gilding and painting along with blended letter shades and also mother of pearl inlay. It was a great week working along side such a talented young man. I Certainly made a friend for life sharing our crafts. Noah is now in London for 2 days visiting historic pubs and painting walls with friends.
He fly's back to the US on Tuesday with his work of art...

oh man. you really captured my fat side. good job. i bet that makes YOU feel pretty good
really though, thank you very much, dave. it was an honor to work along side of you. i really appreciate you and your families generous nature. you really gave me tons of applicable knowledge and im totally pumped to use it. thank you very much for the compliments. im glad we can be of inspiration for one another in the field of arts and other avenues as well. to anybody considering a workshop with dave, i strongly suggest you make it happen. its worth every penny (or pence) put forth to learn what he has to offer....well, most of it anyway. he is a true master at his craft. i also feel as if i made a great friend out of the deal and know that there is great potential for future artistic development between the two of us. keep your eyes peeled. it might take a minute to get settled in and get some things started but it will inevitably happen and you will all witness it right here. thanks again, dave
love with all my heart,
nora.

Thanks Noah. We sure did have a good time making these and at least you got to see some of my town as well..
I can't wait to see what you do with the techniques especially with your design magic that you have. Seeing you sketch first hand I would say your style is very simalar to David Butlers. Here are some more photos of the workshop and will post some more once both panels have the background finished and framed.
Sorry about your fat side Nora.

It is always great to work one-on-one and learn as much as you teach. Classic style.

Perhaps you should just design one of those initial panels for every letter of the alphabet, so you'll be ready when the band wagon shows up.
Or you could do those awesome intertwined initials...say...perhaps LWW....
I have a feeling more and more folks are gonna want to come and do this with you. I'd be one of 'em.
When ain't it a great job....superb!

billy, i was crouched on top of the table. at times its almost impossible to see what youre doing with the reflections going on. i had to get above it to see exactly what i needed to accomplish.
the alphabet is actually a great idea. you could do each one a square foot. if you dont do it, i just might. that would actually be a good meet. everyone could pick a letter till each one was done. just a thought.
