First glue chip

This is my first glue chip. My kids and myself did this last December as a gift for the wife. It was a very fun experience with them. We made the frame as well. The entire picture was chipped but I wanted more contrast. So I picked certain areas and re-sand blasted to give a more varigated appearance. Also, I did this as well to make the image pop.

I was wondering if you had any recomendations on how to make it stand out furthur. The wood background is nice but the image gets lost in many different lightings. I thought of staining the wood a darker color but wanted to ask here first. I also thought of putting a nice dark paper background as well.

Let me know what you think and any other suggestions on how to make the image stand out more.

If you can space the glass piece off of the background by a couple inches, it should be a bit more visible. The darker the background the better.

I will either stain the background or get some decoritive wrapping paper and cut it to fit.
