Photoshop question
....gotta question for you. Have been working on a book cover (waiting for furnace repairs at shop) and I have some etchers lines that I can't apply graphic pens or any sketch filters to. Now what's weird is I did all this the day before and got the results only the whole thing was not 300dpi and so started again....dang!! There's alot more to go but have tried all sorts of things. Any idea's? attached is the first version with all the dummy colours.

Re: Photoshop question
Hey Doug,
Not sure if this is your problem, but some/many of the Photoshop filters will not work unless you are in 8 bit Mode. Possibly you opened a 16 bit file originally?
Additionally, some will not work it 1 bit B&W, grayscale or indexed color.
If that is not it, I'd need to know more about what you are trying to do.

Re: Photoshop question
Well there you go. Went back in and checked the modes and the second was in CMYK rather than the RGB which allowed the extended filter use. I'm not sure if I'll switch them over permanently yet (I'll figger that out later) but I did switch it over to RGB and there they were. Thanx there Goldie!! I did alot of head scratching on that one.

Re: Photoshop question
Doug,
I think most people work in RGB all the way through a project. At the end, you need to find out from the publisher whether they want RGB or CMYK before supplying photos to them. I think many take RGB and then convert them before output.
Good luck with the book!
