When I first started in the sign business....(actually well before) my deepest desire was to do TV sho-cards in the town I lived in at the time, Peterborough Ontario. I recall that during commercials there was usually just a voice over and the camera focused on the still of a sho-card. These would have been done by a terrific card writer in town by name of Ivan Elicott. Just great imagination and creative approach was needed for that work. Of course this was all done in black and white and in fact the card we used had 2 shades of grey for this very purpose. Even until a few years ago they still manufactured these colours although I have no idea what has happened since the art of sho-card writing disappeared. While going through the Signs of the Times mentioned in a previous post I stumbled upon something from that era. Hope you enjoy
