Thanks to everybody for all the valauble information!I just did my my first set of glue chiped samples. The second set came out great. My chipping box heats up quickly 125 in 1hr. and has a humidity level of 8%.The chipping happens in 2 to 3 hrs.As per Larry White I'm blasting in back of my local super market but in a card board box but hope to up grade soon.I received a silvering kit from Sarah and hope to do that part soon. It's funny ,My dad told me about chipping when i was about 15. I can't believe it took me so long.

Thanks again Roderick

My cabinet is 24"deep x 48"wide x 8' tall.I used an old heater with a fan and put the controls on the outside. On high it goes to 125 in about 1/2 hr.Then I turn it down to low to keep it at the same temp. It's uses 220 amps by the way.The other 110 wall type heater I tried first took 6 hrs to reach 110.The humidity is controlled by another fan at the top of the box that blows the hot air back down a clothes drier duct to the bottom of the cabinet and at the bottom I have a container of dessecant it blows into. Also three more open on the shelf where the glass is .Their only 3.00 each and so far they haven't use hardly any.I did another test where I really put the glue on thick andsome of that didn''t chip at all after 5 hrs but for the most part it seams like everything happens between 2-4 hrs and the humidity is 8% to 10%.I live right by the beach by the way.

My best glue chipping contraption was the 32" square fiberglass shower in the bathroom at the shop. We covered the open top of the shower, put an electric heater in there, leaned the glass up against the wall, pulled the curtain shut and were chipping merrily away within a couple of hours.

It made for a much better glue chip chamber than shower, although OSHA would probably have a fit and require any future bathers to wear steel toe shower sandals. Actually, it was quite easy to clean up with a shop vac.

........man that's really fast roderick !...what are you using in your heat box ? in a 12"x3'x7' box i'm using 4-250w heat lamps and small fan, and i'm getting 125-140 in a few hours but the humidity doesn't get much below 35-40%....and it takes a lot longer than 1 hr..........you certainly have the right setup.......what is it?.....thanks, vance

...i mean to say longer than 2-3 hrs to chip.....(mike, is there a way to edit one's message rather than having to re-post?)
