Mike Jackson - New Topics and Posting PhotosMike, Thanks for all that you post!
I'd like to post a few new topics along with some pics, but I'm just to busy/stubborn/dumb/ignorant/all of the above, to try to figure out how to set up the URL links/page thing. Sometimes, when I try to take the time to learn it, I get distracted with other thoughts like, maybe I should go check the wine, or mow the lawn.
Maybe, you need to host a "Michael Jackson Workshop, How I Link the Letterheads". I'm ready to send my payment and book a flight. Seems that is the only way I ever put aside the learning time.
Will do my best to post up....
Tony

Hi Tony,
Just a note...You don't "have" to include a photo to create a new topic. Last week, I opened an old Atkinson book and looked through the front section where he explained all sorts of tips and techniques. It didn't take long to find numerous topics worthy of new posts. That's just one example of suggesting people dig around and find nifty "lost or forgotten" information.
POSTING A PHOTO:
Including a photo here is relatively easy, especially if the photo is already uploaded to your site. You just need to understand what the BB is looking for.
Try right mouse clicking on the green banner at the top of the Hand Lettering Forum page. When the little box pops up, click on the last item called "properties". When that new box pops up, you will see Address (URL) near the middle. For ANY photo or graphic on the Internet, except for a few embedded in Flash animations, you can see that full address. The address for the banner looks like this:
http://www.theletterheads.com/wwwboard/banner.gif
That line is the line that needs to be in the Optional Image URL box. That box is the last of three under the Comments box. The easy way to get the full, correct address is to get the "properties" as explained above, then drag your cursor over the full line to select it, then hit the standard Windows command to Copy it to the clipboard > Control-C. If you do that, the entire line is in the clipboard. To enter it in the Optional Image URL box, click once to set your cursor, then use the standard Windows command to paste information from the clipboard > Control-V.
To test whether you have the right address, you can always go to your browser and paste the line there and hit enter. If you did it right, the single image will show up in your browser. I do that quite often before I go to the BB to make a post.
I just went to my own web site, copied the address properties of one image and pasted it below. It takes less than a minute. The actual image is still stored on my other server, but the address to it is included on this page.
Hope this helps!
