House Industries Book

Post by Mike Jackson »

My new House Industries book arrived today. It is pretty danged cool! I've always liked their work and the book is a nice piece to add to the library. It is a little hard to describe, but each page is an interesting treat of charm, dedication, and experimentation. They certainly have style. They describe the book pages as "over designed". They have fun with gloss varnish and flat varnish overprints, velum pages, and a variety of "envelope pushing" printing.

Besides the book, you also get five fonts, several of which I know I will use someday. Check 'em out!

Even if you don't buy the book, sign up to get the couple of free fonts and then get on their mailing list. I look forward to getting their equally well designed catalogs about every two months. Believe me, they don't get put into file 13. They are in a stack next to my AMAL magazines.
