Timi/NCOk, the thread on quills (below) stopped short. Hope this one is more conclusive.
I REALLY need to replace quite a few of my flats. Since I take such good care of my brushes (wink wink) I haven't picked up new ones for nearly 10 years, and at that time was VERY disappointed in what I could find. I think the best ones I have left right now are Langnickel 226 series. But what is out there NOW??? I prefer a medium long, medium bodied, snappy flat that carries a lot of paint. Am I dreaming?
D. BernhardtTry lazerlines.com they sell haydens which are made down under and the silver flash from langnickel,...both excellant truck lettering flats. It may mean a phone call to tham but I know for a fact they stock and sell both lines.,..incidently they will special order langnickel brushes for you if they do not have them in stock such as the "royal/langnickel" (formerly Langnickel)brand.
Bill MastersWell no doubt everyone will have their favourites and I also used the Langnickel in the past. On last order however my supplier (canadian sign crafters) sent me a Mack that is really quite good...and better than the last. Can,t remember the series number but is a blond handle with dark brown mark at end. Will look at it tomorrow when I get back to work and add series number if that is of help.
Danny BusselleBarbara, you might try Scharff Brushes Fayetteville,Ga. 404-461-2200.I haven't bought any brushes from them in a few years but the had some nice flats, quills and the best fitches and cutters for wall and billboard work.
Barbara you might check this guy out for your flats, he sells a lot of quills and strippers, so I'm thinking he just might have some old style medium grays flats. http://www.moseart.com/
