I'm a total novice when it comes to gold work and indeed many aspects of the conventional sign trade. But wielding a brush is large and important part of my work as a muralist and themed environment designer/builder. And I do the occasional hand painted sign project as aprt of the theme work we take on.

I have always considered myself very much a sign guy and even a letterhead. I happily share what knowledge I have gained in my specialties as I feel it is a very exciting part of the business. And the more I can educate others of how and what I do, the more demand there will be for this type of work in the market- a benefit to all concerned.

I am very interested in continuing to explore gold and hand painting methods and developing my skills in these areas. I have a long list of projects waiting until I can get to them.

I sure appreciate the knowledgeable and experienced folks here taking the time to gather the knowledge and suppliers together that might otherwise be lost to folks like me who are just starting out on this exciting journey.

THANKS!

Hi Dan,
Actually, you can thank the Denver Chapter of The Letterheads! At one point, we weren't getting too much action on this site and I was having second thoughts about whether it was worth the effort and expense. Kent Smith worked with the Denver group to be able to pay for the site fees (monthly storage and yearly registration) for a full year. We are paid up until the first of October.

I absolutely LOVE the work you are doing "up there", so please take the time to show us what you are up to once in a while, and even make a page or two of step by steps we can see at your site.

While I am at it, the invitation is also extended to anyone reading this BB to post your current (or old) fun projects. They don't have to be glass and gold. Rick Sacks sent some emails around with some of his interesting and beautiful work with some casting processes. I know there are some "lurkers" reading the board that might feel intimidated about posting or showing their work....come'on folks!
Mike
