Late 19th century sign in Liverpool - new member

Post by Scarlett Rickard »

I was just having a quick look through some photos I have of a three dimensional English glass sign (I've posted them in the copper pressed letters topic), and I found this pic of a little gem I found in Liverpool earlier this year. Hope you like it!

Scarlett (very new person)

ps It's the saddlers sign I mean, although the barbers one is obviously also very classy!!

I particularly like the periods in the period sign. Is it leaf or bronze and what is the black background? I have a couple of saddlery customers here of the same vintage adn they would get a chuckle out of this. Pauls is also classic period, 1968 had a lot of such designs and quality. Interesting juxtaposition on the wall, especially with the red and blue soldier course.
