I love ebay,
Now I don't have to do my own chipping.I can just buy what I think is a copy of an old glass sign that somebody didn't bother to silver.

Just buy it....worry about the rest later! I remember the boss had a few like that in his shop. Altered and manipulated just waiting for a little magic!!

I think I have a photo of one of these completed from Ricks, one of the early Conclaves. Silver and red maybe blended to black, comes to mind. My mother bought Nature's Remedy still when I was a kid. Nasty laxative...great sign.

To put it back to original looking condition you will need to silver, red (lettering) white (lettering) and black (background) paint, and add 1 1/4 " glass back on the bottom. original size was 14" x 20"
I'm 99% sure the glass is original with all paint and silver removed. I have 2 of the signs to compare it too.. They have the same chipping pattern.
They were outdoor signs and most didn't survive the elements. I'm not sure who made them because they are not marked. Maybe Cincinnati Sand Blast Co..
Kent, I think you are right. I did see a picture of one restored somewhere associated with Rick.

How much is it gonna cost me to add the 1/4 to the glass cause that dang signs already up to $49.99 with 5 days left.Heck who's got the artwork ,lets make some and put-em on E-bay.

BUZZZZZZZT! Wrong answer. Lets try something like....great deal for the real thing....lets fix it right!! Rod....we both have huge respect for the old master-works. I see this as a great opportunity. If someone doesn't get at this I'll start bidding (with all the problems created by our Canada customs agency) regardless.

Rod, I assume you were being factitious. Doug is correct and I assume you both got the Western SB catalogue page from Jeff that I did. Nice straight on picture which would be good for replicas or repairs as well. I think Larry's photo appears a little dark or the red Rick used was a little dark. WSB created their own transparent red which they used on all the lighted glass signs, including the popcorn signs. It is closer to 104 bright red. I would say that 49.99 is not a bad price considering the broken bottom, lack of the original copper frame and the galvanized iron backing box for the light bulbs.
