Welter gilds the prairie

Post by Kelly Thorson »

My dear friend Pat Welter is too shy to blow his own horn so I'm guessing I have to do it for him.
This weekend I attended his airbrushing workshop and while there I had a chance to see some more of his gold work. Some of you got the opportunity to meet Pat at the 2006 Dead Man meet. Pat says he thinks that Unity has the highest amount of gilding of any town on the prairies and I'm pretty sure he is right! Some of his mounting posts are works of art in themselves. Way to upsell Laddie. :)

Here are a couple of my favourites.

I believe there is no shame in failure. Rather, the shame lies in the loss of all the things that might have been, but for the fear of failure.

Wow Pat...very nice work.
I love all the curly-cues on the blue piece....terrific job.
Even your sign posts pop out with all the ornate extras on them...
Keep posting (thanks Kelly for sharing these photos) as your pieces are very inspirational.
